Russian cellist for recital
Russian cellist, Alexander Ramm will perform at the next Friends of Music recital.
THE next Friends of Music recital on 3 May will feature Russian cellist, Alexander Ramm and Pieter Jacobs.
Ramm is recognised for his appealing artistic creativity and unprecedented technical skills. He has won prizes at many international competitions and in June 2015 he was awarded second place and a silver medal at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition.
Jacobs is highly regarded as both a soloist and chamber musician. He is a graduate of the University of Pretoria and Yale University School in the USA where he was awarded a doctorate in music. His scholarly pursuits have included a second doctorate in electronic engineering.
Their programme includes works by Edvard Grieg, Samuel Barber, Claude Debussy and Astor Piazzolla.
The recital is at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 KE Masinga (Old Fort) Road, Durban at 7.30pm.
Tickets are R80 for members, R100 for visitors and R20 for orchestral members and students.
