Music festival for Durban

The Zafiko Musik Festival features an eclectic, multi-genre music line-up in one festival programme.

THE second annual Zakifo Musik Festival comes to Durban at the site of the old Natal Command opposite Battery Beach, for two days only, on 27 and 28 May.

The festival features one of the most eclectic, multi-genre music line-ups ever gathered together in one festival programme – boasting some of the finest music-makers from France, Reunion, Mozambique, USA, Mali, Ghana, New Zealand, Australia, Canada and South Africa. Surrounding the festival, there will be a host of satellite fringe events, workshops, couch-sessions, industry engagements and jams, including a closing concert at the Rainbow on Sunday 29 May.

Tickets are available at Webticket: www.webtickets.co.za at R250 for the weekend pass, R150 for a pass on Friday 27 May, R200 for a pass for Saturday 28 May and R600 for a VIP weekend pass, which includes a bottle of champagne, entry to after-parties on both nights and entry to The Rainbow Restaurant gig on Sunday 29 May. Children under five are free.Tickets at the door are R200 for a pass on Friday, R250 for a Saturday pass, R400 for a VIP pass on Friday, which includes afterparty entry and R500 for a VIP pass on Saturday, which includes afterparty entry.To go to the afterparty, cost is R50 with Zakifo armband and R100 without.
