Austrian ensemble for Friends recital

The ensemble Capella Concertante, a classical wind quintet from Austria, will perform at the next Friends of Music recital.

FRIENDS of Music presents a Capella Concertante recital on 2 August at Durban Jewish Cenre, 44 KE Masinga (Old Fort) Road from 7.45pm.

The ensemble Capella Concertante is a classical wind quintet from Austria which has enjoyed successful concert tours to countries such as Brazil, Chile, Namibia, Belgium, Hungary, Italy, Greece and South Africa. As well as performing classical woodwind chamber music, the ensemble also places emphasis on the reproduction of music of the 20th century and the modern age.

Their programme will include works by Mozart, Takacs, Szervansky, Tchaikovsky, Lanza, Strauss, Kalman, Coleman, Piazzola, Lehar and Monti.

The prelude performer will be violinist Sabastian Marimuthu who will be accompanied by Dana Hadjiev.

His programme will include works by Bach, Handel, von Weber and Seitz.

Tickets are R80 for members, R100 for visitors and R20 for orchestral members and students.
