US pianist to wow audience

Accomplished international pianist, Pallavi Mahidhara, will perform at the next Friends of Music recital.

US pianist, Pallavi Mahidhara will perform at the next Friends of Music recital on 13 September at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 KE Masinga Road, Durban at 7.30pm.

Mahidhara is well known for her artistic versatility, she combines mature musical insight, an astounding technique and a charismatic stage presence. She graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music in 2010 with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, and is currently completing her Master’s Degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler.

Prelude performer is 13-year-old Durban Girls’ College pupil, violinist Tasmin Hastings. Tasmin is a leader of the senior primary orchestra and is studying violin and piano. Her accompanist is Dr David Smith. Her programme will include works by Tchaikovsky and Schubert.

Tickets are R80 for members, R100 for visitors and R20 for orchestral members and students. Book through Computicket.
