German-born violinist performs at recital

Lovers of classical music are invited to enjoy a recital featuring performances by Christoph Seybold and Liezl-Maret Jacobs.

VIOLINIST Christoph Seybold and pianist Liezl-Maret Jacobs will perform in the next Friends of Music Association recital on 15 November at Durban Jewish Club, 44 KE Masinga Road, at 7.30pm.

German-born Seybold is one of the most interesting and promising violinists of his generation. Seybold showed great musical talent at an early age. Christoph is a dedicated and enthusiastic chamber music player in different constellations.

Jacobs is one of the leading chamber musicians and accompanists in South Africa. She performs as soloist with SA orchestras, presents music workshops to teachers and gives master classes for pianists at elementary to advanced levels.

Their programme will include Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 5 in F major, Opus 24 (Spring Sonata), Mozart’s Violin Sonata No. 21 in E minor, K. 304 and Strauss’s Violin Sonata in E flat major, Opus 18.
Prelude performer is pianist Kialan Pillay who started playing piano at the age of three and completed his Piano Level 5 Trinity College Exam 2013.
His programme will include Mozart’s Sonata in F major (k332) first movement an Grieg’s Prelude in E minor – Chopin and Notturno.

Tickets are R80 for members, R100 for visitors and R20 for orchestral members and students.
