Make an Easter suncatcher craft today

We hope you have fun constructing these colourful Easter egg suncatchers to brighten your child's bedroom windows this Easter!

These suncatchers need only a few materials to make, which you may already have on hand. Only laminating paper, tissue paper, black cardstock, and a printable Easter egg templates are required. You can also draw your own Easter eggs!

What you need

  • Coloured cardboard or tissue paper
  • Self-adhesive laminating sheets or clear contact paper
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard in black
  • Two-sided tape (for hanging)
  • Free printable template – You can download a template from the Internet, by clicking here.
  • Pieces of yarn or string

How to make it

Step-by-Step Instructions for Making an Easter Egg Suncatcher: 1. To begin, print the template of your child’s favourite Easter egg design. Cut out the template and trace it around black cardboard.

2. Stick the Easter egg outline to a sheet of contact paper or self-adhesive laminating paper. You need to make three traceable eggs.

3. Make little squares out of your coloured cardboard or tissue paper. Stack the tissue paper squares on top of the contact or laminating paper. Don’t worry if you go outside the outline; it will be cut later!

4. Place another sheet of self-adhesive laminating paper or contact paper on top of your completed Easter egg and firmly press down. When laying down the final sheet, be sure to keep it flat to avoid any bumps or air bubbles.

5. Trim the edges of your Easter egg. Then attach it to your windows using double-sided tape or hang with a piece of yarn or string.
