Guards shot dead while escorting tobacco vehicle in Benoni

Two security guards were shot dead during an attempted robbery In Putfontein, Benoni, on Friday, November 27.

The incident occurred at 10.30am.

According to Benoni SAPS cluster spokesperson, Sgt Constance Moalusi, the two guards were escorting a British American Tobacco (Bat) vehicle to make a delivery at Two Brothers tuck shop, in Putfontein.

“The two guards made the delivery, when they were approached by two men, who fired shots into the vehicle,” added Moalusi.
