Parkdene’s exceptional all-round talent

Parkdene Primary School’s Head Boy for 2016, Jadin Jordaan, walked away with top honours trophies at the school's prize giving ceremony held recently.

Among his achievements was the Soli Deo Gloria Trophy for being the top all round achiever in each grade, for every year from Grades one to seven – and trophies for best overall senior learner.

He was also awarded the Primus Inter Pares Trophy (best grade seven all-rounders), bilingualism award, the highest academic achievement award and leadership award. He received trophies for the best achievement in six subjects, thus earning him academic honours.

Jadin also received the prestige award for bringing prestige and honour to the school, through his Rhino SA involvement, plus for being placed first in Afrikaans and second in English at the National Radikale Redenaars public speaking. He also gained his provincial colours for indoor and field hockey.

During the year, he received honours for his public speaking and full colours for Eisteddfod, plus the Con Spirito and overall contributions to cultural activities trophy.

For sport, he was crowned rugby player of the year, cricket player of the year and the sports boy of the year.
