Tambo Babies still going from strength to strength
The organisation donated items such as clothing and toys
Tambo Babies Boksburg recently opened their hearts to the Angel Wings Care Centre and The Almond Tree in Benoni.
The organisation donated more than two bags full of items such as clothing and toys.
“Tambo Babies is still going strong, and we were able to assist people in need thanks to the help of community members and other stakeholders,” said Tina Moolman, a Tambo Babies volunteer.
Moolman expressed her gratitude to those who made contributions to Tambo Babies.
She highlighted that the organisation is in need of donations.
“It’s difficult to make a donation at the hospital in the adjusted level three lockdown; however, we’re trying to come up with a plan so that we can make a contribution in a few weeks.
“We would be grateful if community members can assist with donations. We’ll adhere to all Covid-19 regulations,” she said.
Donations like clothing, nappies, baby blankets and PPE would be appreciated.
Tambo Babies was launched by Deacon Barbara Morrison in 2013 when she heard the plight of newborn babies being discharged from hospitals wrapped in newspapers and bin bags.
The organisation handed out hampers to the mothers of the newborns every second week before the lockdown was implemented.
