Young Boksburg visual artists excel at Allegretto Eisteddfod

The young artists managed to excel, despite a challenging year due to the pandemic

Young development artists from LEA Kirsten, an art school in Sunward Park, have done it again. They have been honoured recently as National Top Ten Achievers at the Allegretto Eisteddfod.

Winners from the art school in the National Top Ten Achievers are as follows:

Ulrike Krauss emerged as the overall winner with first place in the National Top Ten Achievers in pencil, colouring pencil and graphite charcoal categories. Her overall winning artwork was titled “On the Move”.

Vicky van der Merwe also achieved first place in the National Top Ten Achievers paint category, the same category where Carla Mathee achieved third place and Lianke McDonald came fifth.

Kayla McDonald achieved seventh place in the photography category.

Kian Botes and Carla Viljoen were awarded gold certificates at the provincial level.
