Robbers hit Pep store in Sunward Park
Armed thugs robbed the PEP outlet at Sunward Park Shopping Centre in Kingfisher Avenue and Duiker Road in broad daylight on July 1. The assailants took an undisclosed amount of money and brand new cellphones on display before they fled the scene on foot. According to the police report, the robbers arrived at the store and held staff at gunpoint, forcing them to open the cash tills and the display unit before they were emptied. Boksburg police are investigating a case of business robbery.

Armed trio make off with large sum of money
Boksburg police are investigating another business robbery after three armed men robbed Kotwal’s Motor Spares, on Market Street, Boksburg CBD, a substantial amount of money recently. The complainant told the police that he was on duty when the trio entered the business and aimed guns at employees and customers. They emptied the cash till and robbed customers of their personal belongings. The assailants then fired one shot before fleeing the scene.

Industrial Park robbed again
A fleet of trucks belonging to a logistics firm has been left without batteries, after robbers hit Angelo Industrial Park on Main Reef Road during the early hours of July 4. Workers told the police that while on duty, three armed men entered the property and held them at gunpoint before taking batteries from the parked trucks. The robbers fired two gunshots, but no one was injured.

Thieves target cars in Boksburg CBD
In the latest theft of motor vehicle incidents in the CBD, a driver had his navy blue Toyota Etios stolen while parked in Commissioner Street on July 1. The driver, a woman, parked the car at about 10:00 and went to a nearby bank, but when she returned to the spot, the car was gone.
In another theft on July 5, a driver parked his Nissan NP200 in the parking area outside the Boksburg Civic Centre at about 8:30 and went inside the municipal building. When he returned to the parking area about an hour and a half later, the bakkie was nowhere to be found.
Boksburg police are investigating a series of car thefts reported in the Boksburg CBD.
