Angelo mom arrested for neglecting five-month-old twins
The mother allegedly left the twin boys alone for three days.
Boksburg North SAPS recently arrested a mother in Angelo informal settlement, in the vicinity of Driefontein, for neglecting her five-month-old twin boys.
According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Constable Justice Ramaube, it is alleged that the mother left the babies alone in her shack for three days.
A neighbour, who works at a crèche in Angelo Industrial Park, heard the children crying and took them to the crèche.
She then informed the police, who subsequently confiscated the twins on August 2 and arrested the mother a few days later.
After confiscating the children, police noted the babies were unwell and rushed them to hospital. It is allegedly that this not the first time the woman abandoned her children.
The arrest was made by Sergeant Phina Matwetja and the case was handed over to the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offence Unit (FCS)
It is unclear when the mother will appear in court.
