Mob fatally attacks man accused of stabbing

Polices are probing a double murder after a man accused of killing another man was brutally killed in a mob justice attack in Boksburg.

Police in Boksburg are investigating a double murder in which a father was recently killed by a mob.

This is after he was accused of stabbing his child’s mother’s boyfriend to death following an altercation involving the trio.
The deadly attacks happened at the mother’s residence in Angelo informal settlement near the Angelo Hotel.

Information gathered suggests that the mob justice victim, Cellitholh Gamede (26) of Ramaphosa informal settlement, went to see his child, but when he arrived became involved in an argument with the mother’s boyfriend, Gift Mothapo, which came to blows.

It’s alleged that Gamede stabbed Mothapo in his upper body.
The injured boyfriend was rushed to Tambo Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It’s alleged that angry residents hunted Gamede down to his residence in Ramaphosa, took him back to the scene of the stabbing in Angelo and dished out their form of punishment.
Gamede was repeatedly hit and stabbed in the head before he died from his injuries.

A source close to the case told Boksburg Advertiser that Gamede told the mob he was being punished for a crime he didn’t commit.
The Boksburg police spokesperson condemned the alleged vigilante attack and reminded the public that taking the law into their own hands is a crime.
