Two mob justice victims found in shallow graves, three suspects arrested so far

Both bodies were taken to the Germiston state mortuary for further investigation.

Three men have been arrested for the killing of two burglary suspects whose bodies were found buried in shallow graves in separate locations in Boksburg last week.

Two of the men were arrested by members of the SAPS and EMPD Special Task Team on February 15 and the third the following day after he handed himself over to police.

According to the Reiger Park SAPS spokesperson Johannes Msimanga, the victims Mbulelo Ngwenya and Senaoana were allegedly beaten to death during an apparent mob justice incident. This is after they were caught breaking into a house.
He explained that Ngwenya’s mother reported her son missing in January and on February 13 a concerned resident came to the police with information that the two men were attacked by a group of about six men in Driefontein informal settlement on January 18.

“Acting on this new information, the task team went to the informal settlement where they found two of the men suspected to be involved in the mob justice attack and they were taken in for questioning,” Msimanga said.

“One of the men confessed to the killing and volunteered to take the officers to where Ngwenya was buried. His dismembered body was exhumed.

“The two men were placed under arrest and charged with kidnapping, murder and defeating the ends of justice.”
A further investigation was launched to locate Senaoana.
The third man who handed himself over to police told the investigators that the body of Senaoana was buried in a shack.
“A team was deployed to dig up the floor and Senaoana’s body was found and exhumed,” said Msimanga.

The three men are expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on charges of kidnapping, murder and defeating the ends of justice.
Both bodies were taken to the Germiston state mortuary for further investigation.
Reiger Park SAPS management applauded the team for its swift response to the tip-off.
The hunt is on for the remaining suspects.
