Boksburg’s Sharney Blackway to host cancer hike and picnic fundraiser
Join Blackway at Rietvlei Zoo Farm on May 3 to honour her journey, support cancer patients and celebrate the power of community.
Sharney Blackway, a resilient cancer survivor from Delmore Gardens, is planning a cancer hike and picnic fundraiser on May 3, at Rietvlei Zoo Farm.
The event celebrates her journey of overcoming breast cancer twice and aims to spread hope while raising funds.
Blackway has become a beacon of strength in her community after battling triple-negative breast cancer, an aggressive form of the disease.
Her inspiring story includes undergoing chemotherapy, radiation and a double mastectomy, all while sharing her journey with over 111 000 followers on TikTok.
Through her platform, she has raised awareness about early detection and the challenges of living with cancer.
The fundraiser promises to be a day of positivity and activity. Blackway encourages participants to wear pink and black activewear as they join the hike and picnic.
The event will also feature cardio fitness sessions led by Impumelelo Fitness Club, ensuring attendees get moving for a cause.
Tickets are R180 per person and include a meal.
Proceeds from the event will go towards pampering cancer patients, a gesture close to her heart as she continues her mission to support others facing similar battles.
“This is not just about raising funds; it is about celebrating life and showing love to those who need it most,” she said.
