SAPS clamp down on crime in Reiger Park

A high-impact district operation in Reiger Park resulted in multiple arrests, fines and the confiscation of drugs, alcohol and illicit cigarettes

A recent high-density operation in Reiger Park delivered significant results, with multiple arrests, fines, and confiscations recorded.
The operation, aimed at reducing crime and enforcing local laws, was carried out by various collaborating law enforcement units to improve safety in the community.

According to Reiger Park SAPS spokesperson Constable Johannes Msimanga, the operation led to these arrests:
• 15 for undocumented individuals;
• 3 for possession of illicit cigarettes;
• 3 for drug possession;
• 2 for drunk driving.

Officers closed two illegal shebeens and issued 32 fines, totalling R10,200.
Items confiscated during the operation:
• Two blood alcohol kits;
• Forty packets of illicit 20s cigarettes;
• Nineteen pieces of Mandrax tablets;
• Three whole Mandrax tablets;
• About 0.05 grams of crystal meth;
• Some 39.67l of alcohol.

The SAPS confirmed that similar operations will continue across the district as part of a broader crime prevention strategy.
