Police in Boksburg North and Reiger Park continue to monitor and respond to various crime trends across their precincts.
According to Colonel Mack Mngomezulu of Boksburg North SAPS, property-related crimes, contact crimes such as assault and sexual assault, and domestic-related offences remain prevalent in the area.
“Many domestic incidents are linked to alcohol abuse. Business and common robberies, as well as hijackings and business robberies, are ongoing concerns. Suspects often pose as customers, usually in groups of three to four, before robbing businesses.
“Sector 1, including Impala Park and Atlasville, has experienced a rise in house break-ins between 09:00 and 13:00. Elderly residents are frequently targeted. In some cases, victims are locked inside their homes or restrained when confronted by suspects.
He said fraud is also increasing, with cases involving online purchases and bogus business contracts where companies cannot be traced after payment is made.
“Smash-and-grab incidents are on the rise along Main Reef Road, particularly near the Angelo informal settlement and in Witfield, especially when traffic lights are not functioning.”
Reiger Park

“Additional cases recorded include two assaults with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), three common domestic violence cases and two incidents of malicious damage to property.”
Police urge residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to their nearest police station.
