Women-led NPO renews appeal to feed 100 vulnerable children

The aim remains to provide much-needed nutrition and support to children in need.

Local NPO Harvesters in Love is renewing its call for community support as it prepares to host a soup kitchen for vulnerable children in Daveyton on July 4, after the original event was disrupted due to anti-immigrant protests in the area on the planned date of June 6.

The organisation, a group of women from different parts of the city and registered with the Department of Social Development, aims to feed 100 children and is again appealing for donations to help make the initiative possible.

Items needed include:
• Meaty rump bones
• Vegetables
• Bread
• Polystyrene plates
• Plastic spoons
• Sweets and chips (for children to take home)

Harvesters in Love says any assistance from the public will be greatly appreciated as they work to provide meals and small care packages for children in need.

Community members and businesses willing to assist are encouraged to come forward ahead of the new date. The aim remains to provide much-needed nutrition and support to children in need.
