The Boksburg North SAPS arrested two men for attempted murder in unrelated incidents on the morning of February 27.
A 37-year-old was arrested for stabbing a security guard and his colleague on Rietfontein Road.
According to the Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Justice Ramaube, the man stabbed the security officer several times from behind. He also stabbed the security officer’s colleague in the hand when he tried to intervene.
“The security guard managed to call the police, who chased and apprehended the man.
“The knife was confiscated and will be used as evidence,” said Ramaube.
The motive for the incident is still unknown, and the suspect will soon appear in court.
In another incident, a 53-year-old man was arrested for shooting a 53-year-old man about four times on Eighth Street.
According to Ramaube, in a video, the man and the victim were leaning against the victim’s car while talking.
“However, moments later, a white SUV drove by and a woman emerged. The suspect went to the driver’s window, which was open, and the woman gave him a gun. The suspect then shot the victim about four times.”
Ramaube said the victim was taken to hospital for medical treatment and the suspect was arrested.
“It was discovered that the woman is the suspect’s wife. Police are looking for her to be charged with accessory to the attempted murder case.”
The motive for the shooting is still unknown.
The suspect will soon appear in court.
