Six caught after breaking into cellphone store in Rietfontein Road
Items such as a hammer, crowbar and screwdriver were seized.
Six men were apprehended after being caught red-handed breaking into an MTN store on Rietfontein Road on November 18.
According to Clinton Festraets, owner of Legendary Guardians Exclusive Protection, a call about the burglary came through on a CPF member’s radio at 01:40.
“CPF members spotted the side window broken and saw the suspects were still inside the building. Legendary Guardians and other CPF members responded immediately as backup.
“On their arrival, the six suspects jumped over a wall and ran down Rietfontein Road,” said Festraets.
Members gave chase and apprehended all the suspects.
Additional backup arrived from other security companies. The suspects were then handed over to the Boksburg North SAPS.
“We received an amazing response from the Boksburg North police, who arrived on the scene within minutes,” Festraets added.
Boksburg North SAPS station commander Colonel Mack Mngomezulu confirmed the six were arrested for business burglary.
Items such as a hammer, crowbar and screwdriver were seized.
