UPDATE: Escapee rearrested last night

The robbery, theft, and possession of a firearm inmate is rearrested and brought back to justice.

A prisoner who escaped from the Boksburg Correctional Centre on November 6, was re-arrested last night (November 7), according to the Department of Correctional Services (DCS).

Martin Jackson, who was first jailed on April 10, 2015, will now further be charged with escaping from custody.
Jackson is serving a 20-year sentence for robbery, theft and possession of a firearm with ammunition.

DCS said investigations continue into Jackson’s escape from custody but shared no further details about his re-arrest.
“This swift re-arrest of this prisoner demonstrates the department’s commitment in ensuring that all inmates serve their sentences as mandated by the courts,” said DCS spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo.
