Christmas came early this year for Andries Scribante Haven residents when volunteers from Harte van Goud handed out soup and vetkoek on July 28.
About 200 residents were treated to a meal that day.
Christa Pretorius explained that she and her husband give food to the residents once a month, adding their dream is to register Harte van Goud as an NPO.
“The soup drive was a huge success. We are now planning on handing out a cooked meal and malva pudding on August 27,” she said.
Christa highlighted that they need ingredients such as minced meat, margarine, vegetables, salt and pepper.
