Local accountant to shine in the Big Apple
The accountant has proven that these professionals are not all work and no play.

Izelle Botes (34), an Atlasville resident and accountant at Caxton Local Media, is ready for the world of glitz and glamour of The Big Apple.
She received an invitation to take part in the International Modelling and Talent Association (IMTA) Convention in New York next year.
IMTA is a modelling and talent convention where artists from all over the world showcase their talent in New York to hundreds of fashion and talent agents, personal managers, casting directors, network representatives and music producers.
The Atlasville resident explained the opportunity came knocking on her door after they spotted her when competing in the Opulent Models South Africa (OMSA) 2023 contest and asked her to audition at 33 and Me.
After the successful audition, she earned her spot at the convention after excelling at the International Arts Talent Showcase (IATS), held at The Venue Melrose Arch recently.
“It was thrilling. I was nervous, but I can perform when I have to. It was a fancy event, and well-k
nown people such as Nate Butler, Kwame Waters and Blaze Johnson attended it. I found the event inspiring. They talked about being near greatness, which stuck to me,” she said.
Izelle said she is excited about going to The Big Apple.
“I’m going to work very hard and I am determined. There will be over 300 talent scouts, so I hope to get a signup. There will be workshops, interviews and competitions.
“I will participate in as many categories as possible, such as fashion walk, commercial and bikini modelling, voice-over and talk show host. It is a high-pressure job, but I can handle it. I started,” she added.
Izelle is, however, in need of funds to make her New York dream a reality.
Hence, she is embarking on fundraising initiatives.
For example, she has been raising funds on TikTok with the help of her husband, Christiaan (Vermaak My Dag), under the banner of New York Dream.
If anyone would like to assist Izelle, email her to izellebotes@hotmail.com
She thanked Elsubie Louwrens, Eloise Janse van Rensburg and Ava Sebeka for entrusting her with their stamp of excellence.
“A special to my husband as well, for his love and support.”
