Church recognises CPI members

The CPI members were thanked for all their hard work they do for the community.

To recognise the work the Community Patrolling Initiative (CPI) is doing for Van Dyk Park, Enon Family Church handed out certificates of appreciation to the active patrollers on November 12.

They gave certificates to the members during the church’s ‘The Heroes Among Us’ awards presentation.

Dr Sam de Lange, from the church, highlighted the strength of a community lies not within the leaders only, but with those who do the hard work we often know nothing about.
“This certificate recognises these individuals’ selfless deeds to others, who seldom receive commensurate appreciation. We just want to say thank you,” said De Lange.

Ward 31 Clr Simangele Sabe handed over the certificates to the members of the CPI. Sabe also received a certificate of appreciation for all her efforts for the community.

Sabe told the Boksburg Advertiser it was an honour to be acknowledged by the church.
“We want to thank the church and the pastor. The CPI is doing a lot for the community, risking their lives. Hopefully, more residents can see the hard work they put in.”

Alida Jordaan, CPI secretary, pointed out the members of the CPI are ordinary citizens working tirelessly to assist the community in emergency situations.
She expressed her gratitude to the church, the ward councillor, Makopano Solutions Group, MKT Tactical, Trinity Fidelity ADT and Graphite Security.

“We are a team and will continue to fight crime and make a difference.”
