Police visit malls to educate community about GBV

The law enforement officers handed out about 1 000 pamphlets and community members were advised about opening GBV cases and they explained the procedure for applying for a protection order.

Boksburg North SAPS recently visited East Rand Mall and East Point Shopping Centre to educate the community about gender-based violence (GBV) in the light of 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.

The members who paid a visit to the malls included members of social crime prevention unit, victim empowerment centre and crime prevention wardens.

They handed out about 1 000 pamphlets and community members were advised about opening GBV cases and they explained the procedure for applying for a protection order.
