R4 000 reward for missing Beyers Park husky remains unclaimed

The family appeals to anybody with information about Ice’s whereabouts to come forward.

There is still no trace of Ice, the eight-year-old Siberian husky whose family has been desperately looking for her for six months.

Ice went missing from her Beyers Park home on July 11, and the family is offering a R4 000 reward.

Ice’s owner, Helene Emmenis, previously said the dog was last seen that evening when a man in a white double-cab Hilux picked her up on Louis Botha Road in Beyers Park.

“When we noticed she had escaped from the yard, I immediately made sure it was circulated on our community WhatsApp groups so people could be on the lookout for her.

“Somebody responded to the post, saying they had found her. When we got to this person, he explained a man in a Hilux had already picked up Ice, claiming it was his dog,” said Emmenis.
The family has tried everything to get their pet back.

“I have even spoken to an animal communicator. It is unbelievable that somebody could hide her so well,” said the owner.

“It’s impossible that nobody saw anything. I also don’t know anybody in this neighbourhood with such a bakkie.

“We have contacted SPCAs and vets in the vicinity. People have contacted me about the reward, but nothing constructive has come out of it.
“I will need proof, like a video, that they have my dog before I hand over the reward.”

Emmenis said they have no leads at this stage.
“People have been phoning us, saying they have found her. We ask for a photo of the person with Ice and then see it is clearly a contrived photo.

“We hope she is getting lots of food and love wherever she is. Ice is part of a family who loves her so much. She is a daughter taken from her parents.
“We appeal to the person who took Ice to bring her back. You will get the reward money for her safe return. No questions asked,” she added.
