Boksburg Community Project (BCP) teed off for its first-ever charity golf day on October 23 at ERPM Golf Club with much success.
According to the founder of BCP, Helen Kruger, the goal was to raise funds for the sustainability of their clean-up initiatives.
A portion of the funds raised will also go towards Witfield resident Anche Moore’s soup kitchen, #FeedingBoksburg, which is supported by Urban Ruins.
Helen said the golf day was perfect.
“By 08:00, the BCP crew was at ERPM Golf Course, getting everything ready to welcome the golfers.
“The sponsors arrived in droves, all pumped and prepped for the action-packed day ahead, with over 100 golfers gearing up to hit the greens.
“The golfers teed off at 11:30 sharp in a four-ball alliance shotgun start. Golf carts whizzed around the course, with players making the most of the watering holes and sponsor displays.

“As the day ended at around 17:00, we had a group of satisfied golfers and one incredibly thrilled Shaun Atwell, who scored a hole-in-one on the fifth hole!
“Big congrats to our winners of the day, Eddie Vos, Willem Gravett, Leon van Lingen, and Tony Louw who topped the leaderboard with an impressive 107 points.”
Hole sponsors included Brand Expert, Ceramic Pro, Pepsico, Windhoek, Lethabo Brands, DFSK SA, UD Trucks, Motus Mitsubishi, ALJ Insurance, Motus Afterparts, Shoe Emporium, White Star Travel, Perimeter Protection, Ultimate Pet Care, Urban Ruins and Birchwood Hotel.
The evening wrapped up with a scrumptious supper, prize-giving and a lively auction, featuring amazing prizes from generous sponsors.
“It was a day full of fun, laughter, and success,” Helen said, adding their next golf day will be at ERPM on September 19.
