Boksburg North SAPS unites for a safer community
The outreach also saw the recruitment of 15 new Community in Blue volunteers, marking a significant boost to community safety efforts in the area.
Boksburg North SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit, Community in Blue, the Youth Desk, and CPF members recently hosted an outreach at Witfield Spar and in Boksburg North (Sector 4) to educate and uplift communities and raise awareness about GBV and drug abuse.
Throughout the campaign, the team engaged with about 230 residents and distributed informative pamphlets to equip locals with knowledge about the different forms of GBV, when to report incidents, and where support is available.

The chairperson of Community in Blue, Lebogang Maifo, expressed appreciation for the overwhelming community support.
“We are excited to welcome new, energetic members into our fold. Their dedication reinforces our commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and unity within the sectors we serve,” said Maifo.

The key outcomes of the campaign:
• Increased awareness in Sectors Three and Four of the Community in Blue programme, encouraging more residents to engage with safety initiatives.
• They focused on young people gaining knowledge, leadership experience and confidence to be proactive in their communities.
• The campaign fostered deeper connections within the neighbourhoods, promoting trust, collaboration, and a shared vision for safer streets.
• All residents of Witfield (Sector 3) and Boksburg North (Sector 4) are encouraged to join the Community in Blue or support upcoming initiatives.
