#Women’sMonth: Empowering women
Another session will be held to empower girls this Friday.
In line with Women’s Month, the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE), in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, hosted women entrepreneurs for an empowerment session in Boksburg on August 25.
The session‘s theme was ‘Building resilient economies for all’, which is a call to break the historic barriers that have excluded women from participating in the economy.
Speaking at the event, MMC for Developmental Planning and Real Estate Nomadlozi Nkosi, said women‘s empowerment means creating spaces where women are heard, respected, and protected, and they can thrive without fear.
Another session, titled ‘Empower a girl child’, which is part of a series of events to empower women and mark Women’s Month, will be held at 12:00 on August 29 at Laban Mothlabi Comprehensive School in KwaThema.
