Artists find inspiration at Melville Koppies

Entry fee is R100 for adults, R50 for under-18s and free for children under five.

Despite a chilly, grey morning, the sun appeared right on time at 14:00, welcoming about 20 budding artists to the Melville Koppies on October 4.

Artist Bronwen Findlay and photographer Sally Gaule were on hand to guide and advise participants when needed.

The conditions for creativity were perfect: Soft, warm light and ample inspiration from the peaceful surroundings.

There will be another afternoon art session soon, so watch this space.

The Koppies are open every Sunday from 08:00 to 11:30.

Visitors can practise their art, enjoy a leisurely hike, tackle the 5km self-guided trail, book a guided tour (079 532 0083), or relax in the quiet heart of the city.
