Act now to protect your pet with Boksburg SPCA microchipping special

With the Boksburg SPCA’s vac and chip special ending soon, pet owners are reminded that proper identification can make the difference between a lost pet and a safe reunion.

With only a few days left to take advantage of the Boksburg SPCA’s December vac and chip special, pet owners are urged to act quickly to ensure their animals are properly identified and protected.

Microchipping remains one of the most effective ways to reunite lost pets with their owners. During busy holiday periods, summer thunderstorms and times when families travel and leave pets in the care of house sitters, animals are more likely to wander off or become frightened and go missing.

According to the society, pets that are microchipped have a significantly higher chance of being returned home than those without permanent identification. A microchip provides a reliable link between a lost animal and its owner, even if collars or tags are lost.

The Boksburg SPCA is encouraging residents not to delay and to make use of the current microchipping special while it is still available.

Pet owners are also reminded that microchipping is only effective if the chip is correctly registered.

Those whose pets are already microchipped are advised to confirm with their service provider that the chip details are up to date and that their contact information is accurate.

By taking this simple step, owners can greatly improve the chances of a happy reunion should their pet ever go missing.
