Witfield facility puts a little extra fun into retirement

Witfield Park Retirement Village residents have a new reason to head outdoors after a putt-putt course was officially opened on September 18.

Residents and guests celebrated the official opening of a new putt-putt course at Trans 50 Witfield Park Retirement Village on September 18.

The opening brought residents, staff, donors and supporters together for an afternoon of refreshments and friendly competition.

Guests enjoyed tasty boerewors rolls before having the opportunity to play on the course for the first time.

Lifestyle consultant Lesché Lombard said the new facility reflected Witfield Park’s welcoming spirit.
“We are warm, vibrant and welcoming,” Lombard said.

The event also provided an opportunity to thank the donors and everyone involved in making the course possible.

The contributors included Wimpie van Rooyen of Lily and Oak Pharmacy, Vulkaan, the Trans-50 Witfield Park Second Hand Shop, Trans-50 National and Johan Louw of Terraquip.

Two additional donors chose to remain anonymous.

Lombard added that putt-putt suits residents of different fitness levels, whether they want to play or simply enjoy watching others.
