Lakeside Primary does it again

The team scooped 24 gold, 37 silver and 28 bronze medals on its way to lifting the trophy.

Lakeside Primary School again this year emerged as the overall winner of the inter-primary athletics meeting at Boksburg Stadium on January 31.

According to the thrilled deputy principal, Joan Moosa, the school’s athletics team won the competition for the 11th consecutive year, beating rivals Parkdene, Parkrand, Freeway Park, Curro Academy and Summerfields Primary.

The school scooped 24 gold, 37 silver and 28 bronze medals, as well as 24 fourth positions, on its way to lifting the trophy.
The victory qualified the Lakeside athletics team to go through to the Greater Boksburg Primary Athletics competition, which will be held on February 20.

“As a no-fee paying school with limited resources, we are super proud and excited about our athletes’ accomplishments. With hard work and dedication, our educators and coaches made our athletes shine at the athletics meeting,” said Moosa.
“They once again proved that Lakeside is a force to be reckoned with. We look forward to the next competition, and we wish all athletes well for the competition.”
