East Rand United overcome Police

Waylon Thompson scored two tries in the first-half to set the tone for East Rand United's victory over Police in a Valke Kestrel League last round-robin match on Saturday, August 31.

Donique Perries scored a penalty in the second half, and United added their third try to give them a 24-21 win at home in Reiger Park over Police, who scored a hat-trick of tries of their own.

Perries converted penalty proved to be the match decider on the day.

With a second versus third and first versus fourth system being used for the play-offs, United will face Buffels, who are set to face Delmas in their last round-robin match, in the one semi-final with Delmas set to face table-topping Meyerton in the other semi-final encounter.

The semi-final matches will take place on Saturday, September 21, with the final scheduled for the following week on September 28.

Venues for both the semi-final matches and the final match are yet to be named.
