Kaylee gains acceptance to GWRI

Local female rugby player handed good opportunity

Kaylee van Staden’s goal of becoming a professional female rugby player has received a big boost after the now former Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen marticulant told the Advertiser about her recent acceptance to the Gauteng Women’s Rugby Institute (GWRI).

This arrives just a few months after the Advertiser had a Q and A with the aspiring professional rugby player, who completed her Grade 12 at EG Jansen last year.
“I’m really grateful for the opportunity and I’m really excited to get started,” enthused van Staden.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I want to make the best of it.

“The GWRI is a big thing, it’s the first women’s rugby institute to be opened. The Springboks women captain BB [Babalwa Latsha] is also playing a big part.”
