All these women have previously run the gruelling marathon and know that preparation of mind, body and soul is imperative to making it to the finish line.

Sending well wishes are BAC runners recently photographed at a spot along the Comrades route at the Inchanga interchange, Rita van Wyk (running her 11th Comrades this year), Anacelia Goncalves (running her back-to-back this year), Caronn Harris (running her back-to-back this year), Bernadette de Freitas (ruled out due to injury) and Mandi Rudatis (running her first Comrades this year).

In less than two weeks, the rubber meets the road for Comrades Marathon runners in their quest to conquer the 95th race, a down run from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

In honour of it also being Women’s Month, athletes from Boksburg Athletic Club (BAC) wish fellow Comrades runners all the best as they too prepare for “the ultimate human race”.
