Bodybuilder outshines the best
Jannies main goal is to get a pro card or status in bodybuilding.
Boksburg’s Jannie ‘JJ’ Brits (31) outclassed 200 bodybuilders in the IBFF Fire and Ice Provincial Bodybuilding contest at Roodepoort Theatre on August 20.
Brits, who has been in the bodybuilding fraternity for four years, scooped the first prize in the classic and second place in the U80kg categories.
He also conquered the overall division. Brits added that he was not expecting to win.
“It is a huge achievement because it has been close to a year without me competing. My greatest reward is that I received an invitation to compete in the IBFF World Cup on September 24.
“Although I have won other bodybuilding competitions I think this one highlights my bodybuilding career. My preparation for the show paid off. I started training 12 weeks before it, and I was following a good diet plan.”
He added that he didn’t take any days off from training, which he described as intense.
“I won because my body physique was good and a lot of people were complimenting me. My favourite bodybuilder is Chris Bumstead because he is the classic bodybuilding champ,” said Brits.
He said his next goal is to earn his pro card as a bodybuilder.
