‘9mm’ ready to rumble

The local fighter feels positive about the fight.

Van Dyk Park’s Robert ‘9mm’ Swanepoel is gearing up for his EFC 102 fight at the Performance Institute on April 13.

The 40-year-old will take on Osvaldo ‘Créu’ Benedito in the lightweight bout.

Swanepoel said he is pleased with how his preparation for the fight is going.

“I’m feeling positive about the fight and will be 100% ready,” said Swanepoel, whose record is 1-6-1.

His message to his opponent: “He must know that this is not an amateur fight and that he is in the hexagon with a veteran.”

Swanepoel won his first EFC fight on May 7 last year after defeating Masefi Ngoma in the EFC 94 welterweight bout at the Performance Institute.

The local fighter defeated Ngoma via TKO (strikes) at 0:39 in round two.
