MIWA urges all drivers to check their lights

"Many accidents on our roads could be prevented if all vehicles’ lights were working"-MIWA.

Dewald Ranft, chairperson of the Motor Industry Workshop Association (MIWA), encourages all motorists to get their vehicle’s lights checked this winter.

Ranft explained that it can be troublesome travelling to and from work with the unpredictable load-shedding schedule and vandalised streetlights.

“Many accidents on our roads could be prevented if all vehicles’ lights were working and motorists used their lights correctly,” said Ranft.

He also added that it is important to be visible on the roads and that it can be quick and affordable to replace lights.

He suggests having someone to help you check the lights. First, turn on your front lights. Then switch to brights, dims, and more.

He advised drivers to visit any accredited MIWA workshop should they encounter faulty lights in their cars and to seek advice for long-lasting light bulbs. Ranft concluded by encouraging motorists to be responsible on the roads.

“Be responsible and everyone can arrive alive,” he said.
