Tennis club welcomes new sponsor

The Wimpy Atlasville is the club’s official sponsor, supporting players, events, and community tennis initiatives.

The Atlasville Tennis Club has welcomed the Wimpy Atlasville as its official sponsor, bringing together local business support and community spirit in a partnership aimed at growing the sport and supporting players.

Club chairperson Kobri du Preez said they celebrated the collaboration at the club’s recent fundraiser golf day at the State Mines Golf Club.

“While membership fees cover daily operations, larger projects require extra funding. The golf day proved the perfect opportunity for the community to rally behind the club, and Wimpy Atlasville didn’t just show up; they actively participated, sponsoring a hole and cheering on players throughout the day.”

Jayson Naidoo, who owns the Wimpy Atlasville, said the partnership was about more than just tennis.
“It’s about creating a stronger community, memorable experiences and supporting local players as they strive to reach their potential.”

For Naidoo, Wimpy’s support extended far beyond the golf day.
“The sponsorship includes backing players during official Gauteng East tournaments, with refreshments delivered to the courts to keep them energised.
“The partnership will also be part of future fun days and tournaments, adding a special touch to make each event memorable for players and spectators.”

Du Preez said the sponsorship was a significant boost.
“Every great rally starts with a good serve, and this sponsorship is just the first shot. It’s not just about the funds; it’s about the message this sends to our players and the community. When local businesses step in to support sport, it shows that what we do matters, and it inspires everyone involved to aim higher.”

He added that they want their players to dream big and achieve more.
“With the Wimpy Atlasville on board, we can offer better experiences, support players at tournaments and make our events more engaging. This partnership is a game-changer for Atlasville Tennis.

“The collaboration is not just about sport; it’s about bringing together the community. Local businesses, such as the Wimpy Atlasville, are crucial in ensuring clubs like ours continue to thrive, while offering young players opportunities to develop their talent.
“Next time you visit the Wimpy Atlasville for a coffee or meal, you’ll know that your support is helping local tennis players pursue their goals and bringing the community closer together.”
