Atlasville Tennis club finishes strong at provincials
The Atlasville Titans may have missed out on a spot at Nationals, but their strong finish at the provincial playoffs in Pretoria shows exactly why they’re still the pride of Ekurhuleni.
Atlasville Titans represented Ekurhuleni with pride and determination at the Amex Express National Club Championships provincial playoffs in Groenkloof, Pretoria, from June 21 to 22.
Deidre Meadon Vrey of the club said, although the team narrowly missed qualifying for the national playoffs, finishing fifth overall was admirable.
“The competition was extremely tough, with only the first-place team from Gauteng Central advancing to the nationals.
“We were competing against strong teams, but we played our best. We are proud of our team.”
Vrey said the Atlasville Titans had already made their mark by being crowned regional winners of the Amex Express National Club Championships.
“Their journey to the provincial stage was filled with dedication, resilience, and team spirit.
“Though we did not come first, finishing fifth in such a competitive field is an incredible achievement.
“We are super proud of them and wish them all the best.”

While they won’t be heading to nationals this time, the Titans continue to inspire young athletes in the region. Their commitment, skill, and sportsmanship have solidified their status as a club to watch.
