Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend (January 31, February 1 and 2):

Friday

A home in Norfolk Street, Dalview, was burgled of jewellery, television sets, a games console and laptop.

Saturday

Two cars were stolen.

A silver Mazda Sting was stolen from the corner of Hospital Road and Grant Street, in Brakpan North, and a blue Uno was stolen from Acton Street, Dalview.

Tools, including a welding machine and cutting torches, were stolen from a workshop in Vlakfontein Road, Withok.

A man was robbed of R7 800 in the Mkhanqwa Village informal settlement near Ergo, in Witpoort.

He left for work at about 5.15am and was walking through the settlement, when a gang of about eight men started chasing him.

The men attacked him with knives and bottles, searched him and took his money.

Sunday

A green Kawasaki motorbike was stolen from an address in Waldeck Street, Brakpan North.

Speakers and other goods were stolen from a business in Boundary Road.
