Help prevent cold feet this winter

Brakpan police have called on the community to donate shoes to its "No Cold Feet" project.

With assistance from the public, the local police station aims to donate as many pairs of shoes as possible to those who cannot afford them.

The project is an initiative of Lieut Col Israel Ndluli, from the detective services, and is being coordinated by Capt Joep Joubert and Sgt Lucia Govender.

Donations of any new or used shoes in all sizes will be welcome.

Police have politely requested that used shoes must be in a good and clean condition.

Donations of baby booties and children’s shoes will also be gratefully received.

“A pair of shoes can make a big difference to someone who does not own any,” said Joubert.

Shoes can be dropped off at the police station, which is situated along Gardiner Avenue.

Donations will be accepted until Saturday, June 14.

For more information contact Joubert or Govender on 011 744 4940.
