Emperors Palace spreads Madiba Magic

Maphanzela Primary School in Thokoza experienced that ‘Madiba Magic’ on Friday, July 18, when Emperors Palace staff and management, through its community development trust, the Peermont Children’s Trust (PCT), rolled up their sleeves to change the conditions at the school.

The main focus for the Reach for A Dream team was the refurbishing of the school library, which included installing a new ceiling, book shelves, tiling, lights and painting.

The school also received two new computers to enable the librarian to capture the data and the filing of the more than 5 000 books donated by the Rotary Association in Isando, Ekurhuleni.

The Emperors and Trust crew also assisted in painting the bathroom facilities at the school, fed the 1500 learners at Maphanzela and rolled up their sleeves to plant seedlings in existing vegetable gardens and improve conditions in the school’s Grade R classrooms.
