A fair for science enthusiasts

The First Annual Lebati Foundation Ekurhuleni Area Science Fair 2014 will take place in Brakpan, on Saturday, September 27.

The purpose of the fair is to discover scientific and technical talent in Ekurhuleni and to encourage the pursuit of careers in science and engineering.

While registration for the fair is closed, science learners who have completed projects and are eager to share them will be welcome to display their work.

Teachers, learners and parents are welcome to attend and can look foward to an array of interesting exhibits.

The South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement will exhibit a travelling planetarium, and scientific resources which can be used to better educate learners and parents on careers in science and the wonders of science.

The South African National Space Agency (SANSA) educational travelling team will also exhibit some of the projects on which they are working.

In addition, there are great prizes up for grabs for participating schools and learners.

The Lebati Foundation is a non-profit organisation, focused on providing opportunities to better the future of South Africans though education and learning.

The fair will take place from 8am until 3pm, in the Hellenic Community Hall, which is situated at 2 Bekker Road, Dalview.

Members of the public may attend from 11.30am until 2pm.
