Don’t miss the 2015 Just Wheels Car Show

The Just Wheels Annual Motor Show will take place on Saturday, May 23, on the Muriel Brand School grounds, in Brenthurst.

The show is growing in leaps and bounds and the 2014 event was no exception.

With almost 400 cars on display, plus the 4×4 activities, several exhibitions and a fairly comprehensive motorcycle display, the show has become an event of note and is growing in stature.

“The terrain is excellent; level and very clean, so there is virtually no risk of tyre or undercarriage damage,” said Bart Zaayman, the events manager.

The terrain is also wheelchair-friendly.

“Over and above the cars, Hans Sturgeon, from Voortrekker Safaris, will again have his ox wagon and oxen at the show,” added Zaayman.

“There will also be many food stalls, a flea market, beer garden, and all the good things that go with a good car show, including a lucky draw.

“We are proud to announce that, this year, the Defence Force display will be even bigger and the Ekurhuleni Emergency Services have indicated that they will again have some interesting vehicles on display.”

The James Hall Museum has promised to bring along a red double decker bus, and the 1934 Dennis Fire Engine will also be on display.

“This year there is an urgency to the show, as Muriel Brand desperately needs to replace the school’s aging bus fleet,” said Zaayman.

“As this is a school for children with disabilities, these buses have to be modified to handle wheelchairs, and it is a costly affair.”

“Just Wheels is making a passionate plea to all car, tractor, stationary engine and motorcycle clubs, dealers, businesses and all petrol heads to support this event.

“Let’s see if we can have 1 000 cars and 1 000 motorcycles on show.”

All profits generated from the show will be shared between Muriel Brand School and the Be an Angel Network.

Gates will open at 6am for show cars and exhibitors and at 8am for visitors.

The lucky draw and prize-giving will take place at 12.30pm.

Proceedings will wrap up with a parade that starts at 1pm.

“After the parade, the public is welcome to stay and enjoy the rest of the day,” said Zaayman.
