Shots fired at shop owner
Friday morning, last week, around 10.15am, while the newly formed EMPD Eastern POPS unit was patrolling Langaville extension seven, members of the community informed them that there were armed suspects trying to rob a bakery in Langaville.

On rushing to the scene with sirens blaring, the would-be robbers grew cold feet and fled the scene.
According to witnesses, a white Toyota sedan without number plates stopped at a Pakistani-owned Bafana Bafana tuck shop and confronted the businessman.
On realizing what was about to happen, the businessman showed the would-be robbers a clean pair of heels.
The robbers, trying to stop him from running away, fired three shots, but missed.
When hearing the sound of metro police sirens, the shop owner then returned.
Unharmed and feeling safe in the presence of the metro police, the owner was relieved and thanked both the swift reaction of the metro police and the members of the community for alerting the police.
One of the would-be robbers was identified by a member of the public and the EMPD is hot on his trail.
A case of attempted robbery was opened at the Tsakane Police station.
The EMPD is appealing to the public to come forward with information that will assist in apprehending the suspects.
