
According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:
• Friday – Four residential burglaries were reported.
These took place at homes along Winterberg Street and Etosha Avenue, in Dalpark, Springs Road, in Rand Collieries, and Modder Street, in Sallies Village.
Television sets, laptops, jewellery, cash and groceries were among the items reported stolen.
Computers were stolen during a break-in at Laerskool Môrewag.
A green Fiat Uno was stolen from Mall@Carnival.
Four men robbed a bottle store on the corner of Prince George and Voortrekker avenues.
One of the men entered the store at about 3.30pm and enquired about the price of brandy.
He then left without making a purchase.
The man, along with three accomplices, returned shortly afterwards and pointed a gun at a staff member.
The gang took liquor and cellphones before fleeing on foot.
• Saturday – A radio was stolen from a car parked at an address along Taft Avenue.
Burglars stole a television set and games console from a residence in Cole Crescent, Brakpan North.
• Sunday – Four burglaries took place.
Homes along Duncan Street, in Brenthurst, Torchwood Street, in Dalpark, and Kouga Street and Gordonia Street, in Leachville, were burgled of television sets, laptops, jewellery, cellphones and other household items.
A man was robbed of his bank card while withdrawing money at an ATM along Voortrekker Street.
The incident took place at about 4.30pm.
The man was at the ATM when two men travelling in a red vehicle without number plates suddenly stopped and alighted the car.
They pointed a gun at the man and threatened to shoot him if he didn’t give them his card and pin number.
Three robbers made off with two cellphones, a wristwatch and cash after robbing a man at gunpoint along Queen Avenue.
While walking along the street at about 7pm, the victim was approached by a man who asked him for a cigarette.
He was talking to the man when another two confronted him.
One of the pair pointed a gun at him and told him to hand over all of his belongings.
