Following stringent interviews and short listing processes the Ekurhuleni mayor, Clr Mondli Gungubele, will host a congratulatory breakfast today for the 20 successful candidates who have been granted a four-year full scholarship to study at Breda University in Netherlands.
The successful candidates will study specialised programmes in transportation, aviation and logistics.
These specialised skills are key in responding to the City’s 30-year Aerotropolis Master Plan.
The Master Plan is a strategic development tool to promote and stimulate airport economy around the O R Tambo International Airport.
The Ekurhuleni Growth and Development Strategy 2055 identified investment in human development as a priority area of focus in enhancing the growth trajectory of the regional economy of the City, as well as in the implementation of the Master Plan.
