Brenthurst pupils open their hearts for former headboy

Funds raised for past pupil who was seriously injured in an accident.

Brenthurst Primary School held a fund-raiser for a former pupil on Friday, last week.

Funds were raised through a Civvies Day and a cake sale, with all monies going to Jeshan Peramaul (14), who was the school’s headboy in 2014.

Jeshan, who lives in Brakpan Central, suffered a severe brain injury when he was struck by a car in Benoni, in August, last year.

The accident has left him in a wheelchair and he requires full-time care.

Jeshan’s mom, Keshnie Peramaul, praised the school and told the Herald that the fund-raiser was a remarkable gesture.

“It’s amazing, we’ve had such support,” she said.

“Brenthurst Primary is very special to us, it always has been.”

The fund-raiser kicked off with a religious service conducted by the Warriors of Christ ministry.
